What is the Fall Spooky Classic?

There’s a reason the Fall Spooky Classic has become one of my favorite things we do at CrossFit Chesapeake.

Yes, there are workouts. Yes, there are costumes. Yes, there is a little friendly competition. And yes… there’s cash and prizes on the line. 👻💰

But that’s not really why we do it.

This year will be our fourth year running the Spooky Classic, and every year it means a little more to us because of who it benefits: Love Remained Ministries.

Love Remained is a ministry that comes alongside people who are walking through brokenness, difficult circumstances, trauma, and seasons where life just feels really hard. They don’t just offer words of encouragement and send people on their way. They walk with them.

They help people find hope, healing, community, practical support, and ultimately point them back to Jesus.

And that matters to us.

Because we believe fitness is about so much more than what happens inside a gym.

We believe in strong bodies, but we also believe in strong minds, strong relationships, strong families, and strong faith. We believe that the people who walk through our doors matter far beyond what they can lift, how fast they can run, or how many reps they can do.

And sometimes being strong means having people around you when life gets heavy.

That’s what Love Remained does.

So for three weeks this fall, we’re going to do what we love to do at CFC—work hard, have fun, cheer each other on, dress like complete weirdos, and probably question a few of our life choices during the workouts. 😂

But we’re also going to use something we love to help support something we believe in.

That’s the part that makes this competition so special to me and Nick.

The Spooky Classic isn’t just about who finishes first.

It’s about using our community to make a difference outside the walls of our gym.

Four years in, we’re still pretty dang excited about that.

So whether you’re here to compete, cheer, wear an unnecessarily elaborate costume, or just be part of something bigger than yourself… come be part of the Spooky Classic.

You bring the fitness.

We’ll bring the Halloween chaos.

And together, we’ll help Love Remained continue to remind people that they are not forgotten, not alone, and not beyond hope.
